Jerusalem Nano Babel's chips are made from silicon "wafer", a thin slice of semi-conducting material produced from sand. Usually used for electronic circuits.
Not an electronic device
Jerusalem Nano Bible is not an electronic device and is not connected to the Internet. We created a renewed use with a new purpose of the nanotechnology to create the Bible in the size of 5x5 mm on a "wafer" surface.
The digital text file
Using special software, the nanotechnology scientists created a computerized file or image of the entire book of the Bible that is eventually projected onto the smallest surfaces in the world.
The text is covered with a protective layer made of 500 mm of china and silicon oxynitride. The letters are printed or engraved in aluminum at a depth of 450 mm.
The production process of the nano baby
1 • The production process
Start with a silicon wafer with a diameter of 200 mm and a thickness of 0.7 mm. A mixture of silicon oxide and aluminum is placed in layers on the substrate and covered with a photosensitive or photoresist material.
2 • Lithography
The tact is printed on a transparent mask, which is 4 times larger than the size of the final print on the chip.
The print on the mask is exposed to the photoresist material during its reduction to its final size.
3 • Development\ engraving
Etch the aluminum material through the photoresist layer and copy the pattern to the aluminum layer. The photoresist is then removed.
4 • Protection layer
A protective layer made of China and silicon oxide is placed on the wafer and goes through a polishing process from 0.7 mm to 0.4 mm.
The chips are then cut to their final size.
